Spanish words that include 'dios" (GOD) used to confuse me. E.g., Adiós. The 'for god' (god be with you) literally got incorporated into 'goodbye.' !Dios mio! (oh my god!) I can't remember the example I want, now, though.

Though I did once tell my mother-in-law (when she asked when I was going to the city. I swear, I was heading to the bathroom to pee when she asked...)

"Voy mierda." (That means "I go s**t." I meant to say , I'm going on Wednesday ("voy miercoles"). Damn those boys for teaching me profanities before I even mastered the basics!
