I am eating ice cream, and am saddened for Amsterdam's gas prices.

I wouldn't worry too much about them. Europe in general has great public transportation.

[EDIT] In case you weren't aware of this: the oil will be gone soon. It makes more sense to use the remaining oil to convert to sustainable energy--that or civilization as we know it will be gone and we'll suddenly be thrust back into 1800's style living.
