I guess the way I meant it to come across didn't happen. (the beauty of typed words) Of course I won't be smiling when somebody has a gun to my head. jahannam, I've had a family member die every year for the past 6 years. Most recently my 4 year old cousin died from cancer. So no I won't be smiling in somebodys face when they are diagnosed with cancer. I am just trying to say that death happens, there is no stopping it.

Bleh, sometimes I hate typing stuff out to try to show emotion.

I am also very sorry for your loss - that's just life for you.

I had an inkling that you did not mean it literally, but you made the mistake of using the word smile, which signifies happiness and/or satisfaction.

It is the rule of the universe that everything has an end. Why does life have to be any different?

Accepting death's existence is one thing, but accepting this fate is another.

Thats the crux of the matter.

All humans do while living about their lives is practicing denial of death.

Everyone desires distinction and immortality. That is why everyone tries to 'be someone' to leave something behind so people will remember them even beyond their death, so other people can say "look he/she is still remembered", that is why everyone strives for that high ground. It gives an extra comfort and twist to the idea of your termination.
