i have so many memories about and around pomegranates. most are fun memories. some even make me cry. i think pomegranates capture memories in the mind of a person who eats and enjoys them. do you have stories about pome?

Re: Pomegranates - food and story
Ever had fresh squized pomegranate juice? To make it, I remember my mom would put a bunch of pomegranate berries (what do you call the little red bits) inside a meshy cloth (again no idea what to call the cloth) and squize. The juice would seep through the mesh in the cloth. Doesn't make much but it's probably the most intense and sharp taste out there.

Oohh... I love them. I think they are totally worth the work. I'm extra careful when I clean them too and don't get the white stuff mixed in, so it takes me even longer than most. Luckily though, my grandma usually prepares some for me as does my mom sometimes.[COLOR=#4b0082][B][SIZE=4][FONT=trebuchet ms]“If you think you can, or you can’t, you’re right.”

Re: Pomegranates - food and story
UGH!! I just checked out a picture of them! I can't eat anything that looks like it came from a B Sci Fi movie. Blech!
Incidentally, karoaper, the little red bits are called seeds (not being a xxxxx, I just looked this up) and the cloth is PROBABLY cheese cloth.
Once again, w/o having tasted it, yuck!
