No offense Thai but I remember when I first got here and you were posting quite frequently, that the conversations were not any more enlightened than they are now. The Ankap thread was numero uno back then, arabaliozian was still churning out his notes/comments thread with no end in sight (not implying that his thoughts aren't enlightened … God forbid!), and One-Way was still doing a great job of promoting himself ...
If you want more enlightened/intellectual conversations or topics shouldn't you try to create a thread in which that atmosphere can thrive instead of just complaining about your subjective perception about the current state of affairs here? Be proactive not reactive.
New ppl come, old ppl go, some regulars stay current and others over time begin to feel that this form of a social gathering is nothing more than a big waste of time. All BBs have this ebb and flow effect and overall wax and wane like the cycles of the moon, big whoop.
There is a whole world out there to explore and nobody here is stopping anybody else from going out there and experiencing it. In other words you can assume that if ppl are spending their own time here it is because they want to and not because there isn't anything else "better" (totally subjective word) to do ...
