            it's simple...
you can't do it as an individual.
            everyone needs a direction...
you HAVE to be associated with some sort of an organization.
it's like... why have we ALWAYS had people represented by PARTIES elected as presidents or heads of communities?
            as opposed to chezok cadidates?
you're basically saying one can believe in God without necessarily following a certain religion. which I don't think is possible.

Aha! Being affiliated with an organization and being a goosagtsagan is not the same thing. I am a member of AGBU, but not of any goosagtsootyoons because:

              1) If you are in a political party, you basically believe that the country should be run in the way the party says it. I am against this because an armenian living outside of Armenia should not be allowed to decide how Armenia is going to be run, if he/she is not willing to suffer his/her decision's consequences. If we are not living in Armenia, if we do not know what the ARF or the Ramgavars are doing over there, how can we support it? Sure, we have a role to play in assisting Armenia from the diaspora, and fighting for such things as Genocide recognition, but I do not believe that we should be a member of a party which will decide a country's interior policy, while not living inside the country.

              2) Goosagtsootyoons have played a horrible role in uniting Armenians in the diaspora. It has mostly become a competition, and I know a few nasty stuff that has happened between different goosagtsootyoons in Montreal. Heck, are we the only nation that has 3000 songs praising a political party? I never heard Alicia Keys or whomever singing "Long live the Republicans". My point is, goosagtsootyoons are being given a bigger importance than they should have.

              3) It is not true that one cannot remain without a party, as Robert Kocharian, Vartan Osganian and a few other ministers are not members of any party.

                clarification...
                I'm not goosagtsagan!
                I'm in Homenetmen
                but Baron Dants jan
every organization in spiourk is affiliated with a goosagtsootyoon
so even though you refuse to admit it, AGBU does have ties with Ramgavars...
                8)

Never refused to admit it, it is a well-known fact that many Central Board members are Ramgavars, and I disagree with that, as I think all Central Board members should not be affiliated with any goosagtsootyoons, in order to prove the point that AGBU is not affiliated with any parties and is truly a pan-armenian organization. Of course, as you know, Tashnags have been part of the Central Board at the same time as Ramgavars but the Cold War era changed the whole thing.

Despite this fact, the AGBU, to my knowledge, never takes part in goosagtsagan activities, as opposed to HMEM. Not saying that being a member of HMEM is a bad thing, don't kill me. It's just that it is clearly a branch of the ARF, which is not the case with AGBU.

Oh well, I still dream of the day where all members of the Diaspora would unite under ONE organization, the World Armenian Organization or something, and only those living in Armenia would have a say on who runs the country.

Its like being a democrat in Armenia, what the hell are you going to do with that? NOTHING.

Stop wasting your time and acting like you care. You dont believe in God anyway, so how can you set up a guide to tell people how to worship? Hypocritical indeed.

Your group in particular is making us an interest group. I dont know if I can stress that anymore. Democrats will act as they care, because they want your vote. They will make us an interest grouop as they have other peoples, and other beliefs.
