First of all, thank you for taking the initiative to inform the forum about LiveEarth.

Yes, Global Warming is a reality and the facts are overwhelming, don't you think so?

Unfortunately, the mentalities in the World's most polluting country - i.e. the US - are such that it may take at least 2-3 generations before they really become aware of how fundamentally destructive and anti-Green is their way of life. For instance, Americans pride themselves for being "wealthy enough to afford wasting;" not only sad but also simple minded. Another "simple???" example - that probably goes unnoticed and probably considered as "non harmful" - is the amount of paper towel wasted in the US; I never understood why they had to grab 10-20 paper towels when they buy food - i.e. take out. It's just another consequence of the culture of waste.
Sadly, the list of such abusive and anti-Green habits is soooooooooooooooooooooo long; sadly, the US is exporting those habits - yes, the US can invade and destroy another country in ways other than the military.

It will much much harder to eliminate the damages caused by the "Culture of Waste" than to replace the obsolete, anti-Green technologies/products of the US industries.

I agree he is an alarmist, fool and an idiot also. He and Bush are cut from the same cloth.

I am not for waste and large industry abusing the world. Global warming may or may not be true. It seems there is more to it then what some are saying.

I think it’s about how much money they can make by fooling people into thinking the world is coming to an end mentality. It's all about money and the alarmists are a greedy bunch who is turning the thing into a religious belief instead of true science.

Al Gore may - or may not be - a hypocrite - but he's the best US has and his efforts have a rather positive impact in creating a synergy in the US.

1- The Inuits in Greenland who have lost their natural environment and their traditional transportation routes
Can you be more explicit and share with us what "is more to it then what what some are saying?" Thanks.
2- That tiny island - it's the smallest country, I forgot the name - that is struggling with the advance of ocean. The country is "scheduled" to disappear in a couple of years
3- The many species of the North Pole losing their natural habitat
4- Those who suffered from Katrina
5-....
All is needed to become aware of it is to be informed.

By the way, how can it be "true science," what does that mean? As a person with a scientific background, thinking that it's a question of "true science" or not is a "religious belief" spread by the mass media - and the same kind of dishonest politicians.

I was just listening to a report on NPR about some new findings under the ice in Greenland ... they found dna of insects and various ferns and evidence of forests down there under I forget how many kilometers of ice. Sounds to me with the ice melting there in Greenland, we are going back to a state that the Earth has been in before.

It's kind of amazing how many are jumping on this rediculous "Global Warming" bandwagon ... sure the Earth is getting warmer but who is to say that's not how it's supposed to be?

Of course this isn't to say that we should keep burning fossil fuels and destroying our environments. But all the Al Gores and the Tree Hugging hippies that are xxxxxing about how man is causing "Global Warming" can go f-themselves just like the opposite group of morons who are convinced "Global Warming" is a myth. The basic facts are that no one really has a clue as you can't just observe something like Global climate change for a couple of hundred years and try to draw some definitive conclusions. That's like trying to figure out what is happening in a soccer match from a single picture.

What if it is not? Based on what? Can you grasp the concept of how fast a process happens, accelerate i.e. "derivative, second derivative etc." of a process???? The warming is too fast, including the acceleration!!!! Too subtle for you???

Global warming is nothing but the modern version of one of the many millennial fears that recur every thousand years. It is junk science and posited on nothing more than manipulated statistics and faulty computer projections of the future.

If the weather channel cannot accurately predict the weather for next week, there is no reason to believe these global alarmists who make predictions about what will happen 20 years from now, and who want to control society, industry and individuals by what is nothing more than another variant of socialism.

Unfortunately, when it comes to respecting Mother Nature, the mentalities in the US are, at least, one generation behind some European countries - and in some regions up to ten???? Please, continue informing others and hopefully the younger generations will learn to better respect and appreciate Mother Nature. Let's not forget that it took many generations before the concept of better respecting women was accepted - of course, in many regions, and in many ways, it's still just a concept but it's gradually becoming a fact.
