Question Concerning Cartoons..?

Any help is appreciated.

I know someone who is pretty great at drawing. They had to create a character for a project in high school and they have a few samples of their work. One is a poster demonstrating the main character. The sketching is beautiful and all the artwork is unique. The next sample is a short book, sort of like a comic book.

I know nothing about this but I feel like she can make something out of this if it got in the hands of the right people. Can anyone give me any information on who I could contact, any names or job titles? Thanks in advance.

I wish I could help you but I don't know. The usual course of things is to go to school. At one time I was going to pursue a career in illustration and attend the Pasadena Art Center. Usually it's via schools like that, where after graduation through the programs and career placement people get into their respective fields. Credentials are everything in this society, unfortunately.
