So glad to be here. I chose my s/n because I am one-quarter Armenian. I gave it the "-ia" suffix to make it look more feminine, but, I suppose it just looks...sci-fi or something.So, let me tell you a little more about myself, I have been to Armenia, met the previous 'Armenian Pope', which, I think is pretty cool...which is why I include it. Very nice man.
I DO NOT speak the language. 
I wanted my Great Grandparents to teach it to me when I was younger, but, they never did. When I was in my tweens or teens, their church was offering lessons, but, one had to be an adult to take them. I know phrases, though. I can say, "Yes", "No," "Hello", "Good day", "Monkey", & "I love you"...but, that's not very conversational & I don't ever forsee a time when I will need those words and ONLY those words.OF COURSE, I know about the genocide that inspired Hitler, and, as a side note, I am happy to say that a lot of the people I tell that I am Armenian are also familiar with the genocide...they know.
Well, that's about all. I'm sure all these, "Hello, NEWBIE here!!" threads run into each other for the main people here, so, if there's anything else anybody wants to know, just ask, either here or in a pm. I hope I learn things here and strengthen my herritage...well, a fourth of it, anyway...
OH yeah!!! Almost forgot, I make the best, now, I'm going to trip on this word as I have seen it spelled differently than how my family pronounces it, soubadaghi.
AND, if I have misspelled it and nobody here knows what I'm on about, that chese and pasta with parsley layered dish. I make it the best. Ummmm...it may be a good time to tell that I have a tendency to write a lot & I don't really end a post when I say I will....in case that hasn't already been determined... That & I'm fond of the ellipsis in punctuation.
