The Talysh number more than 600,000, of which 430,000 live in Talyshistan, a country included by Stalin’s regime in the artificial state of Azerbaijan in 1921. Talyshistan forms now the south-east of the Republic of Azerbaijan, near the Iranian border. The capital of Talyshistan is Lenkoran. Other major towns are Lerig and Astara on the Iranian border. The rest of the Talysh live across the border in the Iranian province of Gilan, in a long strip of territory along the Caspian coast, from Astara to the Rasht area. They occupy a land of sharp contrasts, ranging from the high, forested Talysh Mountains, to the subtropical coastal land along the Caspian Sea.

I did say that I understood what you were trying to say, I only wanted to remind us all that we should always emphasize on the nonexistence of "Azeri" and avoid, as much as we can, to call the Iranians of Azarbaijan "Azeri". Because oslonor is an illogical spammer. He thinks he is providing us new information but it is in actuality misinformation. All respectable anthropologists and ethnologists agree that Azeris are descended/related to Turks.

oslonor is/are "Azeri" Turk(s) who want(s) to make us believe a nation called "Azeri" exists, that they have a language called "Azeri", and that the Turkish speaking Iranians in real Azarbaijan (Atrpatakan), who lost their original Azari Persian language as a result of Turk persecution in the region, and the Tatars of fake "Azerbaijan", occupying the Armenian territories where they counterfeited their bogus state in 1918, are one and the same nation.

Nowhere in history have the Iranians of real Azarbaijan (Atrpatakan) been called Tatars nor has the genocidal Turk filth north of the Arax ever been called Azarbaijani throughout human history.
