The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Turkey - Internal Political Affairs

An offshoot to "Azerbaijan - Internal Political Affairs" where Turkey's internal politics can be discussed.

Big news to kick off the thread as neo-Grey Wolf BBP founder and leader is killed. The BBP was the organization to which Ogun Samast and Yasin Hayal (the Dink murderers) had connections to. Here's more about the BBP.

Six bodies, including the leader of a Turkish party, have been found as search teams locate the wreckage of a helicopter that crashed in a mountainous region two days ago, TV channels reported on Friday. (UPDATED)

Six including far-right Turkish party leader killed in helicopter crash

All six aboard, including the leader of the far-right Great Unity Party (BBP), Muhsin Yazicioglu, were killed in the accident, village guards at the scene told TV channels.

The helicopter has been smashed into pieces and is spread over an area of about 50-60 meters, and the bodies inside the wreckage are frozen and barely recognizable, village guard Abidin Karatas told broadcaster CNNTurk from the crash site.

Another village guard, Remzi Gok, told broadcaster HaberTurk that the crash was probably caused by heavy fog. "The front of the helicopter is completely smashed, but the back section looks undamaged," he said.

Hasan Caglayan, a member of Yazicioglu’s party, they would not declare him dead until a party official was able to identify him. Turkish military dispatched units to the site to retrieve the bodies.

The wreckage of the helicopter was located on a snow covered mountain top between the towns of Sisne and Elmali in the southeastern province of Kahramanmaras.

Several helicopters and thousands of rescue workers, including village guards, soldiers, party members and local villagers, were involved in the search that had been hampered by heavy snow storms and fog.

Ismail Gunes, a cameraman for Turkish Ihlas News Agency (IHA), was among the dead. The journalist's anguished emergency call was broadcast nationwide Thursday. Gunes said he was wedged in the wreckage with a badly broken foot and was freezing. He said some of the other passengers appeared to be dead, and that his cell phone battery was running out.

The helicopter, carrying the six, crashed Wednesday in the province of Kahramanmaras, as it was returning from a rally ahead of Sunday's local elections.

Yazicioglu, the leader of the small opposition BBP, was born in 1954 in the eastern Turkish province of Sivas, which he represents in parliament. He was married with two children.

    Was Mossad planning Erdogan assassination?

    31.03.2009 15:20 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Turkish media sources detail information implicating the Israeli Mossad in a plot to assassinate Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

An e-mail found on a personal computer belonging to one of the members of the underground Ergenekon organization exposed Mossad's role in the failed assassination efforts against Erdogan, Turkish media outlets reported on Friday.

The organization has been accused of orchestrating a coup plot against the current Turkish administration.

The indictment list tabled by the Turkish prosecution against the organization says that an Israeli journalist had sent the e-mail to a number of Ergenekon figures to inform them of Israeli readiness to assassinate the Turkish premier.

According to sources in the Turkish press, the e-mail promised support for Mr. Dugo - whose identity has not been revealed - against Erdogan after coordination with Mossad chief Meir Dagan.

The e-mail explained that the Mossad would wait for a green light from Mr. Dugo to carry on with the assassination plans.

Turkish sources have claimed Mr. Dugo to be Turkish Labor Party head Dogu Perincek - who is suspected of leading the secret organization.

The news of an alleged Israeli role in the plot comes after a report last month suggested that Tel Aviv sought to stage regime change in Turkey in response to Ankara's condemnation of Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Tensions between Israel and Turkey emerged in late January, when Erdogan stormed out of a Davos forum after a heated debate with Israeli President Shimon Peres on the military aggression brought upon Gaza.

The Turkish prime minister walked out of the debate - attended by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and other panel members -, while complaining that his comments on the conflict were cut short by the Washington Post's moderator David Ignatius.

Erdogan had told Peres at the Forum, "When it comes to killing, you know very well how to kill."

The criticism was leveled at the Israeli killing of over 1,350 Gazans amid a crippling 20-month blockade on the densely-populated Palestinian sliver.

"I know very well how you hit and killed children on beaches," he lashed out, Iran’s PressTV reports.

Well it is good for the hopes of genocide recognition. From an Israeli perspective Turkey was basically a false friend anyways. So everyone wins, except the current Turkish govt of course.

I wonder how the assassination would've taken place though. The Mossad would've most probably operated with poison. If not that then a massive car bomb which would be carried out as a false flag operation and blamed on some new "terror group" and/or Al Qaeda.

But such an operation is currently impossible to pull off as Erdogan remains hugely popular at home and it would only strengthen his party supporters.

Ten soldiers killed in SE Turkey bomb-sources

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey, April 29 (Reuters) - Ten Turkish soldiers were killed in a bomb explosion on Wednesday in the mainly Kurdish southeast, security sources said, in the deadliest attack on security forces in months.

A security source, who declined to be named, told Reuters the remotely-detonated bomb, was the work of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) separatist guerrillas. Anatolian state news agency said nine soldiers were killed.

The military launched ground and air operations against the separatists following the blast in the province of Diyarbakir, which occurred shortly before the armed forces commander, General Ilker Basbug, was to give a news conference in Ankara.

Turkish security forces are fighting PKK rebels in a 25-year separatist conflict that has claimed the lives of 40,00 people.

The PKK, branded a terrorist organisation by Washington and the European Union, took up arms in 1984 to carve out an ethnic homeland in the predominantly Kurdish southeast Turkey.

The government has recently launched a crackdown on the Kurdish militants and Kurdish politicians suspected of having links with the PKK in raids that threaten to inflame tensions in the mostly Kurdish southeast.

Turkey has also improved cooperation with northern Iraqi authorities against PKK guerrillas based in Iraq from where they stage attacks into Turkish territory. (Writing by Thomas Grove and Ibon Villelabeitia)

Good to see the Kurds are following the Geneva convention and not attacking civilians.

              Erdogan was punched

During Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Arakli province (Trabzon) a citizen punched Erdogan in his stomach, Turkish Hurriyet daily reports. Prime Minister was to deliver a speech when one of the citizens came up to him and punched him in his stomach. The Turkish Premier screamed with pain. Erdogan’s body guards immediately rendered the assaulter, Turan Demir, harmless. The latter explained he just wanted to embrace Erdogan and hit him accidentally.
