Originally posted by Nimrod Did you not read what he said at all? He is saying that AMERICAN is just a lousy title. Anyone that is a citizen of the United States of American is AN AMERICAN. where in my reply did u think that i did not understand what he was talking about, because I did. I just added how I see on the whole title of "America." Don't try to act so smart, cuz that makes u a BIG ass.
.....Originally posted by Nimrod As for considering myself "American" well I will do that only when it is sometimes necessary like in school or when I am discriminated against. That s right, just because I say I am an AMERICAN that does not change the fact that I am still an Armenian. Remember, AMERICAN is a label for those mostly confused with their identity. National labels given to you from any nation does NOT change your blood or heritage because you are what you are born as, end of story. Also, if you were to live in "China" by their LAW yes you would be considered and would have earned citizenship as a CHINESE under and only their nation, if you go anywhere else you are your blood and still are your ethnicity, which is Armenian, unless you earn citizenship in another nation.
DUH! I know that! When it comes to paper work and stuff like that, yes, every1 knows that. I'm only American on paper because this country demands it, but when I'm asked, I reply, Armenian.

Only nationalistic rednecks consider themselves as a separate "American" race or ethnicity. No one educated enough has not ever said that nor will they ever and those people should be just neglected like the rest of society did.
Originally posted by SagGal so true. I will never call myself an American. Just plain old American, no way. I'm Armenian. My bloods is Armenian and will stay like that. Even when I have kids they will be Armenian.
So what if, I lived in China I would call myself Chinese? YA RIGHT. lol
I don't really consider myself a racist although I guess I can be. Like If I hate a black person for doing something bad, I do find myself using those negative words that are used towards them. Generally, i think that there is bad in every ethnicity and race. Racism always spreads further and further.
