Kundera is not originated from France but from Tchek Republic. This book was originately written in Tchek. So you're freed of French, but tchek is said to be much more complicated.
      Good luck

I've read all the books by Michael Connelly, I own 95% of them. Clive Cussler and Robert Crais are also a long time favorite. From the library I usually check out James Patterson, James Lee Burke and whatever catches my eye. Right now I am finishing up Jolie Blons Bounce by Burke.

He is czech, but I'm pretty sure he writes in french. He is fluent in at least seven languages. Check the notes.

The notes are saying to thou, that it was originately written in czech. I think he still lives in France, the book has been traduced then the translation was reviewed twice.

Presently reading "The Russia Hand" by Strobe Talbott. Memoirs of the former deputy secretary of state of the US, where he talks about US-Russia relations. I love the "behind the scene" conversations.

After that, I will be reading Chomsky's "Towards a new cold war".

I'm pretty sure she's merely heard of the book.
