It seems that part of the reason the Diaspora Minister announced plans on creating an upper chamber in Armenia's legislature is to prempt this project. Smart move by Sargsyan and co, also a better idea than the DAD.

Yup that realy does sound like a idea the diaspora would come up with alright.
Name one human made institution that is free of corruption, as long as man is involved you will have corruption.

Sounds like Serj has taken their advices seriously.....channel the large Diasporan influence into one effective force targeted at our cause, to reach critical mass, to establish an a think tank and take advantage of all our resources that are getting waisted in Diaspora where it can turn into a powerful force to better Armenia. To have unity with the Armenian government and have real representation of Diaspora in the Parliament

To built that two lane highway bridge from LA to Hawaii.....no wait.

Come on this has been long in coming and it must be eventually done.......I hope it picks up.

The Armenian government (not much fault to them) takes no action (or give guidance) on Diaspora and just leaves it a each individual Armenians or so called community representatives to do what they can, which by nature can never be efficient.
Everybody is worried about corruption be it in Armenian government or some Diaspora organization but if you don’t do what you know must be done then nothing will ever improve.

A united Armenian Diaspora (if we ever get it) that keeps Armenians involved would be a force to reckon with that our enemies would fear and be helpless to do anything about it because it is scattered with real political pull and Armenian voice representation in each host country channeling all resources through as one force maybe one day in harmony with Armenia.

If it will be created as a consultative body, with clearly outlined and limited functions, it wouldn't fail; it will strengthen and enhance Armenian government representation throughout the world. Let’s see further developments and its clean cut idea final description.

Isn't that more or less exactly what all of the many organisations that went before also stated they wanted?

This new lot should have had the sense that within that core ideal ("legitimately claim to speak in the name of all seven millions Armenians, outside of Armenia and Artsakh") lies their inevitable and entirely predictable failure.

But at least it means more banquets.
