Do you think there's life on other planets? If so, then where does God fit in?

I don't think it's very likely that life is restricted only to our tiny planet in such an enormous universe. I don't necessarily mean "little green men". The Mars Rover found evidence of previous atmospheric conditions that could have sustained certain bacterial life. I think they also found evidence of once-existing glaciers or evidence of water (not sure). Under the right conditions, microscopic life forms could begin to emerge if they have not done so already. As far as the role of God, I'm on the fence. Tell me what you think.

I definitely believe life exists on other plants. Only place God fits is people's imaginations (is this even a word?).

It is said by scientists that each star has its own universe or its own sun, and it is also said that there are 50 billion stars that we SEE, and another 50 billion we don't. Now you do the math, I think there is a possibility of life on other planets, however not necessarily like us. As far as God goes, I agree with Hogg.

I definitely believe that there is life on other planets. I mean, the universe is pretty damn big, so why should we be so special?

As someone else mentioned in another post (I believe it was Crimson in the Evolution thread, but I could be wrong), life could take on a whole different form than what we know to be life. Maybe some planets contain life that doesn't require water for survival, but some other such substance. Humans are so sure of themselves, always thinking that they are on top, when they probably aren't.

As far as God goes (or some higher being), why does it only have to be restricted to planet Earth? This higher being could be in charge of the whole universe. (You athiests can just shush.)

Or maybe I'm just letting my imagination run wild. In any event, the truth is out there, hahaha.

I prefer to be called agnostic. I just express my non-believing side more.

There is nothing wrong with questioning what is already 'accepted'. However, everyone has their own beliefs, so beliefs cannot be forced.

Flames..you never cease to amaze me my darling. The reason why God is so special is because he is the Creator. Whatever you see, or cannot see, was his doing. However, this thread is about little green men...

I do think some form of life exists, but not like the one's we see on TV. I wonder who even created the "alien" to look like that. Big bugged eyed....wait.....a min....Anonymouse? Naaah, he couldn't be. I've seen his pics, he's too hot to be a Martian!

The stars sent us a beautiful rose for Valentine's Day... Enjoy!

I'm going with the idea that life on other planets and God can still coexist.

I don't necessarily see a conflict between God and other lifeforms.

But with that said, I don't see any reason to exclude life given the vastness of the universe. Carl Sagan himself commented on the great probability of life out there.

I think you should read the Earth Chronicles by Zechariah Sitching, particularly The 12th Planet and When Time Began.

He basically offers evidence and postulates that visitors from other civilizations helped usher our scientific and spiritual progress.
