Due to my latest inspiration by someones expertise in the area, I have decided to dedicate this thread to the exploration of our minds. I used to be quite intrigued by puzzles, crosswords and mathematical proofs, however recent years of merciless work and completely different requirements of my current studies I have floated away from the mathematical spectrum.

Currently I am experiencing a nostalgia, so I figured that I can squeeze what I have long forgotten in to my busy daily grind and return to what once used to make dive into the different dimensions of logic in my mind. For those of you who are interested in joining me in this excavation, please contribute what you can and restrain yourself from cheating. Here I give you two puzzles that my rusty logical skills were unable to probe. AND REMEMBER NO CHEATING!!!

In the following figure, the points a, b, and c, are each connected to the points 1, 2, and 3. Can you redraw the figure such that none of the lines intersect? If so, draw it. If not, either prove it cannot be done or offer an explanation.

Without lifting your pen, can you draw continuous line that intersects all the line segments in the figure below (left) only once? If so, draw it. If not, either prove it cannot be done or offer an explanation. To the right, there is an example of a failed attempt with the segment that was not intersected highlighted.

        Mysterious Death

Bert is lying dead. He has an iron bar across his back and some food lying in front of him. How did Bert meet his sorry end?

          HAHAHAHA! This is too good.

I admit math is not my area and I'm quite perplexed by the first two but I have come across the Mysterious Death before. This was in my high school math class, when I was in this special program for special kids, in math which was purely logical problems such as this. We had problems about this and the Pit and the Pendulum, or 8 Bags of Gold, and other such crap, and I do believe I know the answer to the last one, although for fear of ruining it for others I will keep it on a downlow.
