The Gods of Eden by Willian Bramley

    Book Description
They Came To Earth Millions Of Years
Ago To Spread The Poison Of Hatred,
    War And Catastrophe...
    They Are With Us Still...

Human history is a seemingly endless succession of bloody conflicts and devastating turmoil. Yet, inexplicably, in the light of astonshing intellectual and technological advancement, Man's progress has been halted in one crucial area: he still indulges the primitive beast within and makes war upon his neighbors.

As a result of seven years of intense research, William Bramley has unconvered the sinister thread that links humanity's darkest events -- from the wars of the ancient pharaohs to the assissination of JFK. In this remarkable, shocking and absolutely compelling work, Bramley presents disturbing evidence of an alien presence on Earth -- extraterrestrial visitors who have conspired to dominate Humankind through violence and chaos since the beginning of time...a conspiracy which continues to this very day.

The Idea of History by R. G. Collingwood

    book description from Amazon.com

The Idea of History is the best-known work of the great Oxford philosopher, historian, and archaeologist R.G. Collingwood. It was originally published posthumously in 1946, having been mainly reconstructed from Collingwood's manuscripts, many of which are now lost. This important work examines how the idea of history has evolved from the time of Herodotus to the twentieth century, and offers Collingwood's own view of what history is. For this revised edition, Collingwood's most important lectures on the philosophy of history are published here for the first time. These texts have been prepared by Jan van der Dussen from manuscripts that have only recently become available. The lectures contain Collingwood's first comprehensive statement of his philosophy of history; they are therefore essential for a full understanding of his thought, and in particular for a correct interpretation of The Idea of History itself. Van der Dussen contributes a substantial introduction in which he explains the background to this new edition and surveys the scholarship of the last fifty years.

So I guess Gods of Eden it is.

Should we post a sticky for everyone to know the book club and when they should have that book by?

Post it here. I'll close the thread and make it a sticky. I'll rename it, too. We might want to give it a day, though. Let everyone vote and see if anyone that comes on later or in the morning wants to join in.

              Good idea.

So for now it's final. The book we have selected is "The Gods of Eden" by William Bramley, for reading in the book club.

Everyone who is interested should have the book purchased by March 24. If people need more time, feel free to ask. Until then, it is decided.

All right, never mind about the waiting I guess.

                The Gods of Eden

                You heard the man.

On second thought, there's no reason to close the thread. I'll just close the poll. If you have any questions or need help locating the book, post here.
