Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Enslavement

The enslavement of women as prostitutes and the addiction to sexual perversion is not new to mankind. But as in war and child labor, today's “sex industry” increasingly enslaves the youngest and most vulnerable of the world—children. Their innocent lives are completely shattered! And the “services” that this industry offers are in high demand—typically by the more affluent of the world. Many “successful” and “prominent” people travel great distances just to indulge in perverse pleasures.

In the United Kingdom, the problem is multi-faceted. First, African teenagers seeking asylum, some as young as 14, are rounded up by gangs and sold as prostitutes in Italy (BBC News, March 8, 2001, “Child Asylum Seekers Sold for Sex”).

Second, according to both the police and childcare agencies, hundreds of children are being used as prostitutes in and around Britain. Many are addicted to crack cocaine, and will do anything to feed their habit.

Another BBC News report stated, “These children exist on the margins of society—they are extremely distrustful of the police and social services. It has been described as a revolving door situation—the police hand them over to social services, but within hours they are often back on the street.”

One case, involving a particularly dangerous pimp, included 22 girls, ages 12 to 18. A police inspector explained, “He [the pimp] was extremely skilled at identifying disaffected, unhappy, vulnerable young teenage girls, most of whom where either already in the care system or on the brink of the care system. On a commercial basis, he recruited and exploited them as prostitutes on the streets of central London.”

In 1996, The New York Times summarized the horrific nature of the child-prostitution industry in Asia. The article estimated that there were tens of thousands of children who were slaves working in “the plantations of the 1990s”: The brothels of Cambodia, India, China, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan and other countries. The article explained that these brothels were built by customer demand from Americans and other Westerners, and have in fact, descended from the brothels of the Vietnam War. What takes place in them would be classified in the West as child molestation and rape!

The rise of capitalism in places like China and Indochina is resulting in markets emerging not just for rice and pork, but also for virgin girls.

So much for women being the main cause of the problems. I can't imagine how a human mind is capable of such extreme measures. Creativity is geared towards filth. And some think that people are more civilized now.

Below is an article I read a long time ago in the National Geographic Magazine.

Milakovic threatened to kill the activist for her outspokenness, but to me he sang a softer tune. Over a poolside luncheon of seafood salad and steak, we discussed the stream of young women fleeing the shattered economies of their home countries in the former Soviet bloc. Milakovic said he was eager to promote his scheme to legalize prostitution in Bosnia—"to stop the selling of people, because each of those girls is someone's child."

This should have also been included in the Prostitutions thread.

Okay, I see my post was deleted. That was uncalled for. Perhaps we should address why prostitution is in the black market. You see prostitution has always been a voluntary act, a voluntary sale of a labor service and the government has no right to prohibit or restrict such sales. The grimmer aspect which you alluded to of the streetwalking trade have been brought about by the outlawing of brothels. Once upon a time houses of prostitution operated by madams anxious to cultivate goodwill among customers, brothels used to compete to provide high-quality service and give rise to their "reputation". The outlawing of brothels has forced prostitution into a "black market," night life existence, with all the dangers which you have alluded. Perhaps if you want to prevent these women from being enslaved is to decriminalize and get government away from voluntary services, so then there won't be any thugs taht will capitalize on the blackmarket.

When was your post deleted? For once I agree with your government chant, as I've stated in the Prostitution thread, I do think that prostitution should be legalized particularly because of cases like these. However, enslavement doesn't always involve sexual obedience, it often used for free and excruciating labor.
