Many Armenians are responsible for Russian technological advancements. However, it is hard to say because culture and science are independant of eachother and the worldwide community that does contribute to scientific advancement is relatively small by its very nature.

I say that we've had more emphasis on arts rather than sciences.
If you look at our history, we've had a good amount of improvement in technology, but more so on the arts.
Look at our music, our dances, are art paintings, our architectures. They've all improved in its styles and variations in one way or another, so there has been a real constant movement in development and progress throughout time.
Don't get me wrong though, our science has been also progressing. I mean we almost found the cure for AIDS for god's sake. However, if you look at Armenian now, we're still using the same equipment and power plants since the 60's and 70's. Additionally, we're not so up to date with the prescription drugs and antibiotics (in the pharmacuetical sense) over there as we are here in America.
Thus, I think that because we're so rich in our culture, that the arts have been emphasized more so than our sciences.
