Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

So as far as the Air Force is concerned, yes, women can and do play leadership and command roles.
    Your perceptions are entirely incorrect. Male Air Force Officers outnumber females by a rate of 73% to 27%. As the rank increases this percentage (for males) increases. I still think that 27% is fairly decent considering. I'm not at all sure where your claim of "usually women tend to be more scholarly than most men" comes from. For instance only 100 years ago (and in some places in this country even less) - women often did not attend school past a certain age and certainly were not well represented in colleges and univesities. Women are also certainly - to theis day - very unrepresented in academia - but perhaps that guy from Havard - Summers - has a pat answer for why this is so...

    Oh and there are about 3,000 Male Air Force Colonels as compared to 400 Female - nearly 9,000 male Lt Colonels compared to just over 1,000 females - and nearly 13,000 male Majors as compared to just over 2000 females...

    Perhaps it is you MOS where you are finding so many females - otherwise I'm really not at all sure where you get such an impression...not that there aren't some fine senior female officers in all of the services - but it is still largely a man's world....

          What i meant by scholarly is that generally (and maybe its just me) but girls are usually more into books and are usually more mature and also smarter than most guys. Guys are usually watching football, drinking beer, and working on their cars.
          I realize that women didn't use to always go to school in tha past but i'm talking about the present day.
          I'm curiouse as to where you got all those statistics about officers from. Also I wouldnt count on those figures being accurate seeing how the actual numbers are most likely classified. I spoke from my personal experience seeing as to how on my base there are a huge number of female officers. Sure their numbers dwindle as you get higher on the chain but I seem to see them everywhere. All my commanders, excluding my present one, have been female.
          I'm not saying there are more female officers than male. There are allot more male officers, but the AF has more female officers than any other branch in the military, and as you know Officers assume a leadership role. I was merely pointing out that it is not un-common for women to be leaders in the AF.

            Guys, this is silly to debate. Both men and women can be competent or not. It's a question of potential for each person. Its totally unreasonable to say that one must be incompetent simply because of gender. Nothing to fuss over.

              Read 1Timothy 2:12-15

              12And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. 13For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. 15Nevertheless she will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.

              Yes I do believe what the Bible says...
              This is a Christian point of view. The problem is that people think that the word submit is a bad word. The man is not to Lord over his wife like you think. The man is to Love his wife.

              Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

              Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

              Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.

              Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

              Col 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

              Col 3:19 Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them.

              But as far as the church is concerned:

              1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

              1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

              1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

              1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

              Biblical Qualifications for Church Leadership:

              1Ti 3:1 This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

              1Ti 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

              1Ti 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

              1Ti 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

              1Ti 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

                when the bible talks about leadership in the Church or the Home- it's always the Man not the Woman--- Women are strong and beutiful- and we man can't be without our beutiful mothers, sisters, and wifes--- God created them for a reason but not for eldership in His church---
