Why does an animal have to be loyal? That is a selfish way to appreciate nature.

I agree. In fact cats are rather clever. If, for example, you throw a stick in the freezing water a dog would eagerly jump in to fetch it, due to its loyalty. A cat would simply look at you with an expression: "Are you kidding me? Do I look like a p*ssy to you? You want it go get it yourself." They pretty much do what they wish and which is more convenient to them.

Can you blame someone if he likes a loyal animal as opposed to a selfish unthankful one? Sure says alot about peoples' character.

Dogs are more intelligent than cats. Intelligence creates a more intricate character. It is not the cats choice to be arrogant and unthankful; having that depth is just not in its mental capacity. Birds can be cute and can be appreciated for what they are as part of nature but I guarantee they are dumb as dyck and do not care about much of anything.
