Yeah, it is. There are larger proportions in the LA area, but globally, our numbers are quite small.
Armenians have been fighting to survive for thousands of years.

well why would you preserve here in u.s. if there's more in armenia?
Because our numbers abroad are at least 2x greater than they are in Armenia. Besides, survival dictates increasing numbers always. No matter what limb you're bleeding out from, you're still bleeding out and in the end it kills the whole body, no?

Sorry but Armenians and Latinos have little in common. A latino-armenian family in United States will raise more than likely latino kids, not Armenian.
@doxie
The biggest threat to Armenians who have a large diaspora is assimilation right now. Next to Genocide, cultural assimilation is the next biggest threat to our existence, and the right minded Armenians are taking it seriously. Of course, I bet you will find Americans of Armenian descent who are culturally American and just have armenian last name - but they are not Armenian - so they don't count.

i guess i'll just wait for a more american armo... to see what happens... i've noticed that the more educated, the more americanized, and more open... but its so rare

Not necessarily. I know plenty of US raised PhDs who want to marry Armenians (myself included).
And it's not a lack of openness... As I said already, it's a desire to preserve one's culture and ethnicity.
