Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

For lack of a better place for this...

    <iframe width="640" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZyAueltLsa4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Think Progress: "During this morning’s Senate DOMA hearings, Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) destroyed Focus on the Family’s Tom Minnery’s argument that children are better off with opposite-sex parents by demonstrating how Minnery misrepresented an HHS study. The study — which Minnery cited to oppose marriage equality — actually found that children do best in two-parent households, regardless of the parents’ gender."

Re: i'm not armenian, but i like armo boys

I'm not going to read through this whole thread, so i don't know if this has been said, you could go with Siggie's advice and find someone who doesn't care about preserving roots, or you could learn the language and culture to prove to an armo guy you like that you're willing to help persevere the culture and raise the kids armo (you can teach them spanish too if you want, but you have to show that you're also willing to let them be Armenian)

There are plenty of intermixed marriages in my family I have 3 half German cousins in Germany who are more fluent and literate in Armenian than I am, and even their German born father is just as fluent/literate. I have another cousin in Senegal who's half Senegalese and he knows French and Armenian, then a few of my uncles here in the states married some plain old American girls, but all the kids know armenian.

Even at our local Armenian church there's a girl engaged to a black guy, but he's been baptized in the church and is learning Armenian and teaches with her at the Sunday School and does work with the youth group. There's also two kids who are half polish in our community and a guy who's half Vietnamese, and another girl who is half mexican, but they all know Armenian, and the half mexican one just married an Armenian guy.

So if we can make it work here in conservative Texas I'm sure you can find a way to make it work in Liberal California. Try ordering tapes or taking an online armo course at UCLA, even if you don't end up hooking up and making babies with an armo guy, knowing Armenian is bound to come in handy one day if you stay in Cali.

          Oh you are so funny.

This thread is not about "gays".
And it is YOU with your postings during the 5-minutes of being here that has resurrected both this topic and the "Armenian and Gay" topic and placed them onto the new posts list!

The rules haven't changed since 2008. It's still not okay to insult people. It's particularly uncalled for when the person whom you're addressing wasn't even talking to you. That just makes you look like you didn't read it because it even quotes the post to which the reply was written.

Sorry if I insulted someone I really didn`t want.
Let others to think what they are writing too. It is FORUM where I can speak to anyone I want, that is not chat, so I can address whoever I want.
                  Thank you for your understanding!
And sorry again if I insulted someone.
                  Peace.

I'm torn as to how to respond...

Common sense way to use quotes is for CLARITY and they used to show whose post you are replying to. Since Retro was replying to Doxie, when you reply to Retro to insult him by calling him a bum, it is not only odd, but also makes you look like a bit of a jerk. While you certainly can post whatever you desire, we have no obligation to let the post or you remain on this forum if you do not follow the terms of service/rules of the forum.
Thank you for the apology, but please just refrain from personal insults in the future. No apology is necessary; just don't do it again.
