    The focus on gay topics in the US is to discourage thinking about serious issues. To begin with, the average american population is not well read or educated and could easily be diverted by topics of not great significance.
    Finally, marriage is a form of prostitution that is officiated by the church.

    This gay marriage is just another part of the theater.

    That's great. But do you now agree that the poor "working class" as you call it can benefit greatly from marriage? And back to the point of gays: Do you now see why gays might want the same kind of benefits? (it seemed before you didn't realize how much benefit there is in marriage for the poorer classes (working, immigrant, non working, ghetto, farming, or not).
