Previous studies have also suggested that the receptors may play a role in disorders such as autism, and that brain pathways involved in romantic relationships also play a part in drug addiction.

The second stage, falling in love, involves the release of endorphins, which bind to the opiate receptor in the brain, basically producing the same response, albeit a far milder response, as shooting up heroin. It can be quite addictive.
Why didn't you throw in the part about oxytocin inducing contractions during labor?
What the hell does lactating have to do with falling in love? Wouldn't you already be "in love"/lust by the time you're lactating (ie having had produced a child)?

you guys do realize this is all theoretical right?only paper i ever found on "falling in love" involved elevation of oxytocin levels (and that was a couple of years back); now which "causes" which? or is it just a correlation instead of causation..."love" is too complex to be defined via some neuroendocrine theory or process; other factors are involved such as psychological, social, gender, sexual, and even socioeconomic factors...

it all serves one purpose! to procreate! which partially explains the theory that we are attracted to people and fall in love with those who we want to have children with (whose traits and features we want in our progeny)... we're all sooo primitive!haha, we all want cute kids

AND FOR COCAMBARS SAKE, ANON!!!!!!!!!!! Have mercy on my aged eyes, I can't look at those spastic animals having such an explosively colorful activity. How much of a cucumber can someone take? I hurt every time I look at that curling tail animal being plucked.
