You dont have to raise kids to understand how are it is. I see it all around me. Children growing up to fast doing things I didnt know anything about when I was that young. Sex, drugs having babies of their own, etc. Its a sad world.

Yes both of my kids have grown up to be wonderful teenagers.. I am very proud of them .. but, it takes luck and a lot of talking and hard work and.. being nice.. lol..

U know what, if the parent is real with his/her child, and always fair.. they will be respected by the kids.

Wait untill the kids go to college. Here, in the States, this when they begin to drink and smoke and experiment with sex and drugs (while in most other places in the world this happens much earlier)

Maybe I missed something. You have a 16 yr old and an 18 yr old and you were born in 1984? Or I guess this is all a joke right?

                    Bullsh!t.

Ahem, excuse my language. If your kids go to college and experiment with drugs and go down terrible paths it all has to do with how you raised them. As the parent, you're responsible. When I was growing up, and now still my parents were/are strict to a fault and I grumble about it plenty, but I went to university when I was only 16, AND I lived at school instead of commuting. In my entire life I've had about 2 cigarettes, I've never done any drugs that weren't prescribed to me by my doctor (like vicodin after I got my teeth out, etc), and I drank alcohol at parties when I was a freshman and since then but I have never in my life gotten slobbering terrible drunk, nor did I experiment with sex. Everyone around me was doing all this and more. I've been to parties where people are drunk out of their minds and smoking weed, among other things, I never touched the stuff, I left because that kind of thing just seemed so so stupid to me. It all has to do with the way my parents raised me. I know kids whose parents were lenient and whatever and let them go out and do whatever they wanted, these are the people who partied and smoke and drank and had sex through college, without giving a sh!t what the consequences would be. Of course there are those parents who do everything in their power to lead their kids down a straight path and it just goes bad at some point and they are unable to control their kids but that's when you sit that kids ass down and lock him/her in his room and don't let him move until he's changed his idiotic ways. No other way about it.

                    • My school had some very scary statistics about what percentage of people have alcohol poisoning at one point in their "college career."

It's because they don't drink much before college so they have to go to extremes. I started drinking wine with my parents when I was 13 and I have never overdone (well, at least not wine
