Plus I wouldn't do that to melinda, they look so happy together.
"mek@ muysits sirun"
Melinda? lol You're on a first-name basis, huh?
Ok looking people need love to (I was going to say ugly but that's just meeeean)!!
They are cute together!
So did you want an Armenian billionaire or millionaire, or any nationality will do?
The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. Scott Fitzgerald
I find that "c*cky, arrogant, standoffishness " that was mentioned about Armenian doc's isn't excluseive to being Armenian or being in the medical field...but it is abundent in higher educated people in general.Pharmacists, lawyers,MD's etc ...
Some people just think to highly of themselves.
I must say I know 2 doctors and a several dentists, and they are the friendliest, smartest people I know and quite fun to be around.
They could get along with anyone and not pull the 'attitude'.
So I guess it's the personality they start out with for the most part.
Plan? So you are going to make a painstaking effort to meet, fall in love with, and marry a doctor?! Please do get back to us on how well this works out for you. I bet though, many many years from now if you turn to your then-husband, who may well be a physician of some sort, and tell him that you actually said this oh so many years ago, he'd probably be as flabbergasted as I am at the moment and not too happy to hear that, you can bet! You know, maybe you just used the wrong word or something. I can understand if someone says that they appreciate and find very attractive the attributes of a man (or woman) who had the strength and abilities, mental and emotional, to get through medical school and residencies and all the things that come along with the journey to becoming a doctor. I can understand if that is what draws you to a person of this particular profession because it takes everything in you to follow your dream and become something that demands so much time and schooling, as does becoming a doctor. I can understand if you say you like the good you see in a person who goes through all that to get to where they are, etc... Maybe these are all the things that are attractive to you and that you want in a mate, maybe you just used the wrong words (I sure hope so, because to say 'planning' to marry a particular type of person based on profession just sounds so wrong to me, too calculated!), that would make what you said more understandable and easier to swallow.
Yeah - these were pretty much my thoughts when I first read this...(of course perhaps I expressed my skeptisim in a somewhat different manner)

The AMA and the various law schools/bar assocaitions and such very much promote this idea of exclusivisity. But - like you imply - not all buy into it. I know several very down to earth and fun, non assuming doctors. No big deal - just people like everyone else...dentists can sometimes be a bit strange though...lol
For the purposes of this thread, I will reveal my long held secret. Yes, I am a Armenian MD.
Well, I'd like to marry AN Armenian MD. Not that it makes a difference.
When I said "I plan..." I simply meant that that is what I see in my future. No, I have not strategically constructed a plan and crossed out any other possibility. hehehehe For the record, I will happily tell my bf/f/h that I find his career plans/career very admirable and a turn on. I think he will be just fine with that.

actually, i've heard that they have a higher suicide rate compared to other professions! i don't know the source of that info nor the rationale behind it...i can make a guess....but...oh well, we can all assume things...
professionally speaking, in general, they tend to be nicer and more polite on the phone compared to physicians.

I'ld commit suicide too if I had a to look inside of peoples mouths all day long...gross
but I'm just a whimp with stuff like that....if I had my choice,I would not have been in the delivery room when my kids were being born
Maral - its just a bit of an in joke with one of the wine crowds I hang with - the dentists among us seem to be the most stubbron and opinionated, upsettable, volatile, and vengeful (yup all of the preceeding) - and over the silliest little things - and particularly with each other (some of the blood feuds you would not believe...and over whether one was opening/drinking his fine wine much too early etc..leading to each impuning the others wine knowledge...). Most of the other Docs seem relatively relaxed and cool and not at all stuck up or otherwise affected. My rep is one of complete and total unflappability and laizzez faire (and of a mediator/peacmaker - yup yup)...what me worry? ...etc
