Well, my parents are cool with it now, but it's the rest of the family that just talks and talks and talks ... but I learned to not care about them, more important are my parents and they are happy as long as I am happy .

The gossip factor is hard wired into the Armenian genes. Don't even lose any sleep over it. That's how I thought at first, now I really dont care what relatives think or say behind my back.
