Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Unless 'this girl' later becomes 'your girlfriend,' at which point you may feel the need to mention, 'Remember when we first started going out? I was kissing other girls.' Unless you'd never mention that to her, in which case that's a different ethical issue.

While Sip is right about you not having an obligation and it wouldn't be cheating (unless you are a couple), you still might want to think that out a little, first. If that girl that you don't cheat on does become your girlfriend at some point (as in you start 'going steady'), she might feel hurt. Something to consider...

See, I never learned that in dating 101 (but since that class is an elective, I didn't study much, either.)

No. You are free to date as many girls as you want. But you should NOT do it if you are "going steady" with someone. How do you know if you are going steady? Well, you have to talk to each other and decide (not on the first few dates of course )

    I have a question..

Since I'm not really "dating" this girl, if I went out and kissed another girl, would people consider that "cheating"?

Yeah Crissy, I don't know about this whole 'dating' thing. Before I divoced, I didn't know much about 'dating' per se. After all these odd things...

I came up with my new strategy, of making it clear that I don't like 'dating.' Let's go out and have a nice time and talk about things without the stress of dating... (my thought is that by saying that, a guy will view me as a potential friend more than a [insert whatever men think about the woman if they have a 'date'] This idea seems to be good so far (no table-chasing!, at least).

hahaha Anahita jan you reminded me of a disaster Date I had....

Once this guy asked me out and I agreed for him to pick me up. Now he said he knew my area pretty well since his sister lives a street away from me. He called 10 times before getting to my house because he was lost even after I gave him detailed directions. Needless to say he was Late.
He came to the date wearing what someone would wear on a sunday morning going to the local shop for the paper or something (not impressed at all) he didn't make any effort
then he had no idea where he was going to take me so I had to make the decisions. Finally went to this Bar (my choice) because I thought if he is boring at least the band will be interesting LOL it wasn't that laud, and we were able to make a decent conversation, decent as in I had to try to drag every word out of him. He wasn't good at making conversartion and it seemed like an interview or even worse when your parents itnerrigate your whereabouts at the age of 15 hehehe.

Ahhh.. hopeless date, after I finished my drink I said lets leave, he took me home, a week later he calls and says "you were in a bad mood on sat night how are you feeling?" ummm need I say more??

I'd agree with you and Sip. I usually don't like cell phone use on dates (as well as in many other situations, like people the movies, in classes, etc.) I wouldn't be offended if my date answered and said, "I'm sorry, I can't talk right now. Let me call you later" (or something along those lines.) Otherwise, it seems inconsiderate to me.

Handing out these cards to people would be rude, as well, but I think they're still really funny. http://www.coudal.com/shhh.php

I don't bother with the phone strategy, or other similar ways out of a date. I just say to the guy, "Ok, I'm ready to go home now." I wouldn't give a 'because' or reason for wanting to leave.

I've only left a date that way, twice. Once, with the rude-to-waitress guy. The other time was when I was on a first date. He took me to a live music show. We had barely spoke the whole night (the music was too loud to hear over), yet, he progressively tried to make moves (the first time grabbing my knee). We had a table. As he inched closer to me, I moved away. We circled the table with him moving towards and me moving away. That was bizzare, as well. I saw my friend there and told my date I wanted to say hi to him. When I returned, my date suggested going out for drinks. My reply was, "No, I'm ready to go home now."

Well, usually if the date is going well I put my phone on silent, no need to get interrupted. But do hate it when people answer phones on date and carry on a long conversation about whatever it is they did the day before or what not.

My (male) friend went on a date with this girl who was talking to her friend on the phone for most of their date. That is just plain rude.

Yah I personally don't care much for people who feel like they have to answer their cel phone right away ... even in the middle of a conversation with someone else. To me, that is a sign of a weak character ... but of course not always. Sometimes you are expecting an important call so that's a different story... I'm referring more to just regular chit chat.
