Texas Creationist amendment to school science standards fails

Creationists wanted to amend the standards to require teachers to talk about weaknesses in Evolutionary theory and basically teach that it is flawed and weak. This measure didn't pass because a majority vote was not achieved (7-7). It's kind of scary that it was even that close.

Ugh... they proposed a different amendment now that passed and will pass probably in tomorrow's final vote. They want to say that there are different estimates for the age of the Earth. They are twisting the fact that there's an estimate w/ an error range. Morons...
