The example i gave involves a research professor who gets his grants from the military. This guy could literaly get away with murder and probably already has. Eliminating corruption is very doable but it requires power to do it. No one is going to give us this power-we have to take it!
How so? Assume you have all the power you need, what changes would you implement to reduce/eliminate corruption?

Now i do not claim to have the answers i was just pointing out a problem but in this case the answer is not that complicated. People abuse other people when they have power over them, eliminating or limiting such power is the key. Like the example i gave no teacher should be able to use and abuse the students like that. He gets away with it because the university wont fire him regardless of what he does. A ethical code of conduct for university proffesors can be drawn up and implimented with something to the tune of if you abuse a student u get warned-do it again and your done. This code of ethics and its violators are reported and repeat offenders will not be hired by any major university anymore. This is just one idea but there are many more which can be effectively used to fix this particular problem. Almost any bad situation can be fixed if there is power and will to do so.

The problem is proof. In most instances the burden of evidence needs to be presented by the accuser and usually a person in power also has the resources to cover their tracks. As we know, some people are unjustly accused of things they didn't do.

Raising science literacy would require a change in culture. Perhaps having women model around in Star Trek uniforms would increase the desire for people to be interested in sciences... lol.
