Those who think 911 really was a few arabs with boxcutters either havent thought about it or are just plain dumb. The crap they showed to debunk 911 conspiracy theories proves beyond the shadow of any doubt they are hiding many things. These same people also think Israel is a true democratic and peacfull nation, that arabs are murerous monkeys, that USA is a force of good in this world, there is no global warming, god is great, that rock in the ocean is Russia, the whole world only exists if fox news says it does, we should preach abstenence while our teenage kids have babies, we should bash gays in public but have sex with them in the bathroom, red dawn is a true story, ....

The simple fact that someone arrives at a different conclusion than you, does not mean they haven't thought about it or are dumb. That is fallacious thinking and you are building quite the strawman there with all of those other beliefs you listed.

The question stated is whether or not the chemical compound known as Thermite is capable of destroying the composition of steel. NIST did not investigate the possible use of incendiary chemicals like they should have been forced to do and several media outlets automatically dismissed the possible use of chemicals such as Thermite claiming that it isn't capable of destroying the composition of steel.

What are the possible reasons for the deception? Would a science teacher tell a body of students that there is no known chemical incendiary that is capable of destroying the composition of steel when lit on fire?

Nah i could care less if people agree or disagree. I voice my opinion about things i am sure of. Many of my conclusions are unpopular but the facts are what matter to me. You can reach any opinion you like but there is only one fact that is true in a mirage of opinions. The truth is sometimes ugly and horrible but that does not make it untrue. One of the best ways to discover who is truely behind a major action is to observe who gains from such action the most afterwards.

The point of the thread is that Thermite is commonly known to be used in many industries and its capabilities are indisputably correct as seen in the video I posted. So why would there be any reason for these media outlets who have unimaginable amount of resources to incorrectly report the capabilities of metal based incendiaries? Aren't journalists supposed to be providing the public with unbiased reports?

Exothermic welding (Thermite Welding)

In exothermic welding, aluminium dust reduces the oxide of another metal, most commonly iron oxide, because aluminium is highly reactive. Iron(III) oxide is commonly used:

Fe2O3 + 2 Al --> 2 Fe + Al2O3

The products are aluminium oxide, free elemental iron, and a large amount of heat. The reactants are commonly powdered and mixed with a binder to keep the material solid and prevent separation.

Commonly the reacting composition is 5 parts iron oxide red (rust) powder and 3 parts aluminium powder by weight, ignited at high temperatures. A strongly exothermic (heat-generating) reaction occurs that via reduction and oxidation produces a white hot mass of molten iron and a slag of refractory aluminium oxide. The molten iron is the actual welding material; the aluminium oxide is much less dense than the liquid iron and so floats to the top of the reaction, so the set-up for welding must take into account that the actual molten metal is at the bottom of the crucible and covered by floating slag.

Other metal oxides can be used, such as chromium oxide, to generate the given metal in its elemental form. Copper thermite, using copper oxide, is used for creating electric joints in a process called cadwelding:

Thermite welding is widely used to weld railway rails. One of the first railroads to evaluate the use Thermite Welding was the Delaware Hudson in 1935 The weld quality of chemically pure thermite is low due to the low heat penetration into the joining metals and the very low carbon and alloy content in the nearly pure molten iron. To obtain sound railroad welds, the ends of the rails being thermite welded are preheated with a torch to an orange heat, to ensure the molten steel is not chilled during the pour. Because the thermite reaction yields relatively pure iron, not the much stronger steel, some small pellets or rods of high-carbon alloying metal are included in the thermite mix; these alloying materials melt from the heat of the thermite reaction and mix into the weld metal. The alloying beads composition will vary, according to the rail alloy being welded.

The method was patented by John H. Deppeler Jr. in 1928 while working for the Metal and Thermit Corporation. It is United States patent number 1671412.

That's exactly the problem... this was a well carried out military operation (only the military has access to the quiet incendiary chemicals that could have been used) and not the work of a Saudi sheep herder (bin laden) and his multinational henchmen armed with box cutters.
