Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Will everything be washed down with flowers which will wilt after a few days.
What the hell are you talking about if I can ask? What has given you the suggestion that serj would sign any deals so the Turks will open the border

      Simple
Turkey said they will not open the border unless there is noticable progress ( READ the Armenian side has cracked its only a matter of time). That is their stated position.

SO if the border is opened we know what it means.

IF border does not open then SS will not attend. That is SS's stated position.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

So how did you come from what the Turks said to that we want the border opened that much that we would give up any land. Do you even know where SS comes from or what he did during the war.

At have you ever thought that he isn't going to the game?

What I pointed out were the stated positions.
What will happen I do not know.
From now on I think is a case of see what happens and read between the lines.

I know very well where SS comes from. I am aware of his patriotism on the battle field and of many others who similarly risked and sacrificed their lives for our country.

I am also aware of the personality changes that they went through when in civilian clothes.
I am not saying that they will go as far as to betray our country at will.
You have to remember 90% of the decisions about our future comes from others, outside power driven by their self-interest.

All I can say watch and read between the lines.

And I think that the people of Kayseri, who had friendly relations with Armenians in the past, just wanted to express their desire for good relations with Armenia. Anyway, they won't be able to.
You must have Kayseri confused with Konya. The Turks in Kayseri were exceptionally brutal to Armenians for centuries prior and during the Genocide. Turks in Konya were/are Alevi and were often sympathetic to Armenians. There are very few Armenians left with ties to Kayseri due to the massacres not just from the authorities but conducted by the Kayseri Turkish populations as well. Kayseri is one example that debunks the Turkish myth that only Armenians near the combat zone were impacted.

Joseph, I watched some interviews with the football audience in Kayseri and wrote my comment accordingly, hence I might have been misled about the past of the relationship between Armenians and Turks in that region.

Regarding the people of Konya, I dunno the composition in the past, but currently they are mostly, if not entirely, Sunni Muslims.

You are correct. I meant to write Sufi instead of Alevi. The Sufi order was tolerant.

So, if they had anted up for roses instead of carnations, would we be having this debate? lol I keed. Simple gestures won't be enough to get the ball rolling...or soften the blow of denial.

wow, what a way to put negative spin on positive news guys! Deep down, many members of this forum want to maintain their animosity with Turks.
I always appreciate any and all positive steps Egeli. You misunderstood me.

How I miss Istanbul-Armenians... they are the only ones who want peace.
I'm offended, kardesh. I'm not an Armenian from Istanbul, does that mean I don't want peace? There are so many Armenians from all over the world AND Armenia that want peace. Your remark was simply disrespectful is all I can say.

This is as positive as when Dink was murdered and we got in return a demonstration or two where they shouted "We are all Armenians"

The voices faded away our loss was permanent.
We got results. Don't degrade what the Turkish people did. That was a major step in so many ways. Let's respect that! It's not easy to move a mountain...

Simple gestures won't be enough to get the ball rolling...or soften the blow of denial.
They are good ice breakers though !
THE ROAD TO FREEDOM AND JUSTICE IS A LONG ONE!

                      Sako

I think you are totally confused between politics and individual human beings.

                      We got results.
                      Could you please elaborate.

Don't degrade what the Turkish people did.
I did not degrade the Turkish people (human beings).
On the contrary I acknowledged their demonstration including the fact that they were shouting "We are all Armenians."
I cannot see a situation where a group of Armenians will shout "We are all Turks".
So the Turks must be more broad minded than Armenians!!.

That was a major step in so many ways. Let's respect that!
What the murder or the demonstrations?

                      Just to refresh everybody's mind
This was a POLITICAL MURDER not from a political opponent but organs of the state with links to the police and the army.
The victim's guilt was, an Armenian ( also a Turkish citizen) trying to break the Genocide taboo in Turkish society.
After the murder there was no remorse shown from the those officials.
On the contrary the murderer was treated as a hero.

                      We got results.
                      No.
                      The Turkish establishment got results.
This was achieved by putting the fear in the Armenian community as to what will or will not be tolerated.
Also a strong message was sent to the few brave Turks who have the courage to fight for the truth.
