I heard the Russian skater was cheated out of a gold medal despite completing a quad jump. Did anyone see that part of the competition?

I watched the American who beat him.

From what I gather, the new system of scoring doesn't reward you for completing a quad, anymore than a triple (maybe it was just in that round) and that foot work and all the stuff in between the jumps have a greater role in scoring as well.

So what they've said is that although the American didn't do a quad, all his in between stuff was better, and it added up, making his total score higher.

I'm not taking any sides, but even if he was cheated maybe it's karma for that thing with the french judge and the canadians a few olympics ago

The Russians pretty much flopped in events that they usually excel at.

Curling is about as much of a sport as darts, billiards, or bowling. It's like a pub game on an ice rink.
