Our defense is slow, lazy, undersized, and too often confused. Despite some recent success, I still think Armenia could also benefit from some better and more experienced coaching- at the very least a better assistant for the fullbacks. It would be great to get Sergio Markarian as the new skipper for the NT.

Armenia still need to schedule training matches/friendlies against better competition as well.

That would be a very interesting idea. He wouldn't necessarily be taking a lower position as Peru hasn't made the world cup in 30 years. Also he is not from Peru, and has coach other national teams, so Armenia would mean something to him.

As far this campaign, obviously WC2014 is done with. We have to focus on EURO2016 Qualifications. With the field expanding to 24 from 16, we have a very realistic chance to make it.

YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. Yura Movsisyan, a striker of Armenian
national soccer team and Spartak FC in Moscow, said Wednesday as met
with students of the Economic University of Armenia that he is ready
to score goals for the Armenian national.

"I missed Armenia and the Armenian national team very much," he said.

"I was pleased to come back to by homeland. I hope everybody understand
that I'm ready to score goals for the Armenian team."

At this meeting, Yura Movsisyan was with his teammates Henrik
Mkhitarian and Boris Berezovsky as well as with President of the
Football Federation of Armenia Ruben Hayrapetyan. The rector of the
university, Koryun Atoyan, handed a commemorative statute to the
captain of the national team Roman Berezovsky.

Armenian national team will host peers from the Czech Republic in
FIFA World Cup qualifying match on March 26. If Armenia wins it
will significantly improve its standing in FIFA ranking. Armenia is
in Group B together with Italy, Denmark, Czech Republic, Bulgaria
and Malta. Italians who scored ten points after four games are the
leaders. Bulgarians scored six points in four matches. They are
followed by the Czechs with five points after three games.

Malta has no points scored. The Armenia vs Czech Reepublic match
will be judged by Romanian referee team led by Paul Balay. He will
be aided by Kristian Nika and Sebastian George. -0-

I wish him well but its not like he is on a bad team now. Demanding a transfer seems kind of premodanaesq but i guess all athletes are like this today. Would be nice to see him have similar success on the NT.

Mkhitaryan being linked to Manchester City, Chelsea, and Barça. I'm glad he's experiencing such success; I just hope he doesn't end up being a benchwarmer like Arshavin.
