The quality of our players is getting much better but this better team would still get beat by the much lesser talented squad during the Porterfield year. I do not see the heart and cohesiveness in this team. As a matter of fact some of the players that were hungry and made a lot of noise have not been the same for a long time. Cohesiveness is lacking due to no stability in coaching and personnel.

All good points. Yura seems to have lost all hunger. He made it to Spartak, got a nice contract*, and that seems to be the limit of his ambitions. He really had potential to make the next step to the top four leagues. Now instead theyre talking about him moving back to MLS.

Same with Aras, his move from Kuban to Spartak made no sense to me whatsoever. He was being scouted by the best teams in the world, and instead he moved from being the star of a good team, to a bench player of an equal team, and the main motivation seemed to be living in Moscow instead of Krasnodar.

Same with Ghazaryan, he made it to Olympiakos and he seemed to think he had made it to the startling 11 of Barcelona or something. His demeanor was so disgusting the very next Armenia game a few days after the signing, as if he expected the refs and all other players to recognize him like he was Beckham or something. Instead of working to get to the next level, he sputtered out and never got a chance.

Yeh but too late...they need to come together when it matters.

yepp its just been a difficult year in every aspect. Aras missed more than a year, Heno was injured twice, Yura was injured for four months, never got back in form, and got injured again at the end. Coach never got a chance with the full team, but never really showed anything anyway. Even with all that, all the games were lost in the last 20 minutes or later with dumb goals. I'm just hoping for a strong finish to this campaign so we start the road to Russia 2018 with some momentum. With finally adding that long awaited marquee defender in Andonian, we should finally get over that hump.

Soccer: Movsisyan called for Armenia duty

Spartak Moscow striker Yura Movsisyan has been invited to the Armenian national soccer team for trainings ahead of this month’s Euro-2016 qualifier against Portugal, the Russian club’s official website reports.

The 27-year-old was not on the list of 12 players from foreign clubs originally invited by Armenia’s new caretaker coach Sargis Hovsepyan. That list was published on May 27, but the Football Federation of Armenia said that the complete list of players from abroad and the local league would be presented later on.

Movsisyan missed the ending of the season in the Russian league because of a foot injury he got during one of Spartak’s trainings earlier in May.

Armenia will host Portugal at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium on June 13.

Well here we are again without a coach. There were some promising signs from our newer players but also obvious exposure of our limitations when it comes to playmakers. Dammit Porterfield why did you have to die....

20 year old center back Gael Andonian has committed to the Armenian National Team. He is on the youth team of the French giant Marseille. He has previously represented the French U16 National Team. 2-3 years ago he initially turned down the Armenian Football Federation invitation when it looked like he had a very good chance of making the French National Team.
