I'm glad he turned it down. We don't need to take a coach just because Kobe wants him.

Nets? The Lakers are the Heat now, but with Kobe (hopefully) instead of Eddie Jones and Payton (again, hopefully) instead of Dwayne Wade. At least if they can sign Dampier, they have a legitimate center, but I give them no chance to get out of the western conference. San Antonio is my favorite to win the title next year. All they needed was a guy who could hit the three consistently and back up Tony Parker when he struggled. They got Brent Barry and they should have the best team in the league now. The best we can hope for now is that they sign either Amare Stoudemire or Yao Ming in 2007 when Brian Grant comes off the books. They've got a nucleus that should be damn good in three years when that happens. I still the Pistons and Pacers both have better teams in the east than the Heat. With the rise of those three teams and the decline of the Lakers, Mavericks, and probably the Kings (who might have one good year left in them), the east is finally catching up.

His ego and jealousy got in the way of what he tried to preach and that was it "being about team". If it was about team, he wouldn't whine and throw a tantrum. He would accept the role, and be a good team player and for once he'd show up to training camp in shape. Garnett gave up 8 million a year off his contract to make his team contenders. Obviousy motive where this fat as$ is headed at.
I hope he breaks his fat toes and can't play anymore.
