Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Reasons Why Baseball Is The Worst Sport Evar!

Baseball is not a sport. How can anyone call 8 guys standing around watching a pitcher throw a ball to a guy swinging a piece of wood? Doesn't seem to be very much of an active sport, let alone a man's sport.

Not only is baseball not a sport, but the players are not athletes because they choose to play a pussified wussified sport. They don't even exercise fully, and have to rely on steroids. So we got some basics down: baseball is not a sport, baseball players are not real athletes and have to use steroids, and the third most obvious reason is baseball is boring. Actually perhaps the number one reason why baseball shouldn't be considered a sport is because they don't burn enough calories while running to second base.

Baseball should be cancelled because it is unethical to watch roided phags try to cheat and break stupid records of who can hit more balls with the piece of wood.

Put a jersey on...and you'll see that these players are real athletes. They go thru conditioning, and pysical activity...put a jersey on and play. or pay more attn on how these players prepared and are athletic

Did I say Nascar is a sport you twit? My post was entirely on baseball, and your stupid justifications for it being a sport don't pass. The "put a jersey on and play" response is simply what idiots would say. Unless you have any real reasons why baseball would be considered a sport, I consider you dismissed.

OK Cheif Twit...the Put a jersey on and play is a response for you to actually go thru the process and play the game...some people have to be put in the situation than deal with words that make you look stupid.

I didn't say you said nascar was a sport, I was asking. Which side of your brain isn't operating this time?

        dismissal denied.

        ---

"baseball is not a sport" - it has been for over a 100 years, there are many arguments on just about every sport on why 'it's not a sport'

"baseball players are not real athletes and have to use steroids" - they go thru conditioning just like other sports. not all use roids. They need great footwork, jumping, strength and agility.

"the third most obvious reason is baseball is boring" - it is sometimes, except @ Fenway, Wrigley or a great competetive game...it's exciting at best in the 8th or 9th, tied or a lead of 1-3 runs and there's a charge to take the lead or close off a team (nobody does it like Gagne')

When nerfbrains that can't even construct decent sentences, nor offer a reason why baseball is considered a sport when in actuality, it doesn't differ much from golf, then you really wonder whos brain doesn't work.

If you weren't subjected to beatings as a child, maybe you would understand why baseball is not a sport, why it is boring and lame, and why those overpaid phuckwits don't do half as much when it comes to athletics as other sports, and on top of that they have to use roids, and be in gay porn, it is truly a sport for phags.

Now take your whiney assed opinion and stop banging your head on the keyboard, as you are still dismissed.

You're right, in a way about it being similar to golf. But I did offer great reasons why baseball is a sport.

as far as the roids go...if you're referring to Barry Bonds, I hate him.

but it sounds like someone is having a hard time accepting the fact that people think that baseball is a sport...

this name calling and negativity reminds me of Dan...that isn't your other personality, is it?

What people think does not matter, people are idiots then. As far as your obsession with Dan and trying to label me as Dan, it only speaks for itself.

Once when he was with the Philadelphia Phillies - John Kruck was admonished for being a smoker - where the person said aren't you embarrased to be an athelete who smkes...Kruck responded: "I'm not an athelete - I'm a ballplayer"

Well - be that as it may - and acknowledging that todays pro-baseball and its players, owners and what not are overpaid and don't care about anyone but themselves - baseball still is a great "sport"

                  A definition of "sport" -

"'Sport'- an activity with a significant physical component in which two or more participants engage for the purpose of competitively evaluating their personal performance."

                  Characteristics
                  1. At the end of each game they must be a winner and a loser.
                  2. There must be practice, which is non-competitive, that teaches the skills of the game.
                  3. Throughout the game there must be "official rules and procedures".
                  4. Throughout the game "tactics and strategies" should be used.
                  5. Muscle and nerve coordination should be taught and learned.
                  6. A repeating "movement or form" that includes a "certain degree of risk" or effort.
                  7. A teacher or coach whom is not only trained in skills of that particular sport but other subjects like nutrition.

There can be no doubt that baseball fits these criteria (and most all other criteria for a sport) and that in fact those who play are (for the most part) atheletes - and atheletes possessing a high degree of skill (baseball is not at all easy to play - or to play well).

And it is a great spectator sport - though I prefer American football myself - but there is nothing really like going out to a ballpark and taking in a game - it is somehow relaxing and (occasionally) exciting at the same time...too bad major league owners and pro atheletes are ruining it...
