Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

College Football

He goes to UCLA. Of course he's going to think college football is boring, although I have to say that game with Washington was actually pretty exciting to watch. Maybe Dorrell will turn it around. But anyway, I think it's time to make some premature picks.
Let's go Orange Bowl, BCS Champ, conference champs, and Heisman.
Heisman - I'll go with Leinart here, for a couple of reason. First off, the quarterback on the number one team always gets first consideration. Second, I can really see this shaping up into a Patriots-type offense with no go-to receiver. Leinart's really going to spread the ball around well and as soon as his young guys learn to hold on to the ball, his completion percentage will go through the roof, along with his rating, since he never throws interceptions any more. A lot of guys will beat him in raw yardage and Jason White will probably throw for more touchdowns, since USC has such a great running game, but I don't see a repeat winner here.
Conference Champs:
Pac-10 - USC
Big-10 - Minnesota
Big-12 - Texas
Big East - West Virginia
ACC - Virginia
SEC - Auburn
The only no-brainers here are SC and West Virginia. The Big-10 is tough to call, and I'll probably change my mind about them every week. Ohio State looks terrible every week, but also wins every week. Michigan should be 1-2, Iowa is done. Purdue looks great, but lack of experience might get to them. Minnesota returned a lot of guys and their running game looks unstoppable, so they're my pick for now. Oklahoma seems like the no-brainer in the Big-12, but they also did the last two years, when they lost it. Texas needs to beat them in a huge way. I just don't know if they have the defense to do it, though. They'll have trouble in a shootout. The formula to beat Oklahoma seems to be get to the quarterback and have a ton of speed in your secondary and linebackers. The three teams that really fit that mold are Miami, USC, and Virginia. I just have a feeling about Texas, though. They can't keep losing this game every year, can they? The ACC still looks like a really tough conference. Miami and Florida State are not the runaway favorites they were billed as coming into the season. Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech won't win the conference, but are good enough to beat any team in it. I think Clemson and Maryland are overrated, but they do have talent. Virginia has looked awesome, though. They're destroying teams right now. I think they allowed under 100 total yards of offense in their last game. I don't know if any ACC team will be able to score on them. The SEC is probably the toughest to call. There are so many great teams in that conference. Going into the season I would have picked Florida, and even now, they still have a shot. But they already have a loss, and it's going to be tough for them to beat Georgia and Auburn to have a shot. Same thing with LSU, although they did win it last year even after losing to Florida. Still, Auburn is a great ball-control team, they have strong line play, and I don't think they'll make the mistakes this year that undid them last year. Either way, this conference will have five teams in the final top 25.
Orange Bowl: USC v. Virginia
It's hard to see any SEC team going undefeated. If Texas actually does beat Oklahoma, they could easily have a letdown and lose the next game. I have Virginia Tech upsetting West Virginia, although they should run the table from there. The Big-10 sucks and I don't think any team will go undefeated there. It won't be easy for Virginia, but they really seem to have it together this year. There is a lot of talent in the ACC, but the other teams look a little lost and vulnerable. Even USC won't have it easy. After the Stanford game, they have Cal and Arizona State in consecutive weeks, and both of those teams are looking damn good. I can't see J.J. Arrington running all over SC the way he has though. Their run defense is too good. They have too much strength up the middle and too much speed everywhere else. Rogers will need a perfect game to win this one. Leinart won't throw three interceptions this time and Bush and White should be able to have their way on the ground. Arizona State winning would be too much of an upset.
BCS Champ - USC
I think it'll be a really good game. Virginia just might have the kind of speed at linebacker to shut down Reggie Bush, turning the Trojans into a passing team. A lot will depend on how good Dwayne Jarrett ends up being. You aren't going to beat the Cavs with speed, but you might with size and jumping ability. The o-line is huge, but they'll need to get their schemes together to protect Leinart against this pass rush. LenDale White is going to have to step up in pass protection and will probably have to be the featured back in this game, too. One thing the Trojans might be able to do with their huge blockers and a power runner is go right up the middle, which might open something up for Smith and Bush on the outside. If anyone can figure it out, it's Norm Chow. USC will pull it out in the second half.

Alriiiiiiiiiiight! USC beat Cal. Ha! Beat the Bears! I win a bet AND my friend who graduated from Berkeley gets to be told he was wrong wrong wrong all day long. Ha! I knew they could do it!
p.s. How cute is Pete Carroll? AND Matt Leinart!!The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F. Scott Fitzgerald

Yes, at the end. And every time USC got a score or turnover and Carroll looked elated! Anyway yeah it was a nail-biter at the end... If the Cal player (name?) didn't stumble on his way to the end zone he might have caught that last touchdown and made the score 24-23 so I'm very glad he tripped.
Undefeated so far... sounds so good. I hope we can completely shut out UCLA. Now that will be sweet sweet sweet. I remember my freshman year when the team broke their 8 year losing streak to UCLA (in '99) and people just rushed the field, it was as close to complete craziness as I've ever seen/been in. And then junior year when we shut them out it was like 27-0, that was pretty fun although now that I think about it it got boring after a while and we just kept waiting to see how many more touchdowns the team would make without any interference from their defense. heh.The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposing ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function. -- F.
