... anyway. Unfortunately, Karo lost
In the first round, in the very beginning, he caught a hard uppercut by Diego. The uppercut cut him under the eye and I saw him grimacing for some reason. After this he recovered, made one beautiful judo throw and landed some good shots on Diego. Nevertheless, Diego's standup was better IMO. Unfortunately Karo has some bad habits when it comes to standup. In addition to the fact that he does single punches (instead of following up with some combination), he drops his head down after the punch and leans it to the left. I wish he would get in the range, throw a combination or a punch or jab ... whatever ... and then pull back out of range. Alternatively, if he had some more punching power and precision, then perhaps he'd finish the fight faster, before his opponent outboxes him.
All in all, I thought he could have won the fight. But it seemed that Diego was better conditioned and was more explosive. If Karo was able to step it up in the 3rd round (tempo was good, but some good punches would help), he would get the victory. Unfortunately, in 3rd round he ate a devastating knee (standing up) which immediately got his tooth flying (they even showed this in slow motion). In the end, he was bleeding from nose, below the eye, mouth ... while his Diego looked clean (which also looks good in judges' eyes).
I hope Karo will recover and give serious thought to standup. Nowadays, it is impossible to keep winning without it, as more and more fighters are "well-versed" in the ground game. The judo throws might give you a point or two, but it is not enough.
