I agree with you in the sense, however I see where Armenian’s frustration is coming from. I personally think that this forum needs somebody like Armenian to spank some users (in some cases maybe not as harsh as he does). He is got the skillset and knowledge for it that many of us don’t have. It’s not about agreement/disagreement, it’s about being protective against insults to our state and disinformation. Look your self at this very page of today’s posts. There are some freaks aligning Armenia with Kenya, or Zimbabwe or calling it “banana republic”, “authoritarian rule”, “regime” etc. Had this crap being said by the turk, he would be gone long ago. Other once quote horse sh1t from enemies of the republic like pashinyan the murderer to demo (the imaginary in their mind) other side of Armenia. And some users just asking for the beatch slap and when they rightfully get it, they get so obsessed that they want to troll and call people names every time they get the chance. I guess when prescription medicine doesn’t work, beatch slap does it for them.

I agree, but our moderators don't approve of this and they have their reasons too.

It wouldn't be good to see people like Armenian confined to forums where everyone already thinks like him, his knack for setting people straight in many arguments relating to Armenia would be wasted. But a compromise has to be made somewhere, there are forum rules and they have to be followed.

I know how people here love to name call each other and it does add some kind of flavour to the forum, but when it reaches the point where threads that were perfectly good for interesting discussion and information turn into flame wars, there's a problem, and if users have a problem with the moderator's actions to keep some order, then perhaps they deserve a break to understand that there are limits.

Btw, if Armenian's ban is extended, it could be a good opportunity for the rest of us to get some experience in his line of work around here too for combating the negative effect of the kind of threads you described, that wouldn't be a bad thing.

You do not have to like me. In fact, I encourage you to spite me. You can make a new screen name and take your time each time, but I will ban you in one click. I will open the thread and I will moderate the debates between the opposing sides and if anyone insults, its back to being banned.

If we as Armenians want to be taken seriously, then surely it begins by respecting each other and our differing views, not by insulting, threatening, or harassing other Armenians for merely disagreeing.

We all want to achieve and seek the same thing, the betterment of us as a people, we just have different ways of going about it. There is nothing that indicates that having differing view points earns someone the right to be harassed, threatened or insulted. The fact that you feel so disadvantaged and inferior that you got shafted, well, it only shows how desperate you are.

You will be banned if you break the rules. That's the way it goes. I was very lenient and I even warned all parties.

I will do so again. Rules are rules, otherwise this place would be infested with all sorts of garbage which would make the forum unpleasant.

And if you folks cannot handle that, then go find another place where only those who agree with you will air their views.

I don't pick sides here, I just enforce the rules, as humanly possible, while all sides bitch and moan about moderating.

If anyone insults or harasses or threatens you, you let me know and I will deal with them, instead of you resorting to their level. Otherwise, that gets you both a warning, and then a ban.

I think this is the point. There is some level of disagreement and childish mockery that goes on, that is okay, but when it reaches a level of rampant insults whereby the flow and coherence of threads is diluted and diverted, whereby we forget just what the purpose of the thread was, whereby some users actually threaten other users, where it becomes a personal attack on who can come up with better character assassinations, then there needs to be something to clean it up.
