If HTML was enabled on the forums, once you view a thread, a potential hacker could steal your ip address and eventually hack you, now you wouldn't like that

VBCode is on though, so you could do something like this for your sig:

[[b][/b]url=www.chatarea.com/dimension301][[b][/b]img]http://server4.uploadit.org/files/061203-DIMENSION301.jpg[/img][/url]

and it'll show up like this:

[url=www.chatarea.com/dimension301][img]http://server4.uploadit.org/files/061203-DIMENSION301.jpg[/img][/url]

(although I dont know how the admin will reply to the large size of the picture which you are trying to use)

Well, for instance, how did you make armenator's picture show up?

The admin disabled posting pictures I believe, which I didn't like too much. Pictures made the forum a lot more interesting.

I'm guessing that the admin disabled attachments, meaning you can't save files onto this server. The image tag is completely different, it allows you to show images which are on another server.

For example, the Yahoo logo is located at:
http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/ww/m6v8c.gif

so to show that image here, we put the img tag around it:



and as a result we get:

Hehe, I already knew the image tags, but I thought that the admin disabled them. I used to have an image in my signature, but one day, all I could see was the link to it.
