Do I have to explain my words? Suppose I should, given that there are so many trigger-happy persons here.

      Re: Improving the Forum

I agree with Siggie on this. We discuss so many different things that we need lots of threads and people will feel more inclined to participate if they can make threads according to the present rules.

        Re: Improving the Forum

hmm.. this discussion has been intriguing. For instance, we could simplify it as most have suggested. however, the issue of hundreds of topics would still appear, just under those simplified categories. For instance, under "General Talk" would be all the not political/historical etc, and members who feel this forum should be more discussion-orientaed towards the other material could simply completely skip over that section. The problem is, in order for mods to better be able to do their part is the nuisance of now having to create more sub-forums. This in itself is a major pain.

Primarily though, a lot of users aren't following the forum's rules stipulated. this causes problems for everyone.

The fact that we are having conversation about how to organize all this info means that we have a successful forum rich in information (and babble to).

            Re: Improving the Forum

Is there a way to make the column wider for the "Last Post" on the main forum page so the entire topic title can be read?

I mean it is his responsibility to do that. Hey if nothing happens or he keeps ignoring these concerns, we could always start a new forum

I can propose these changes and hope he looks into it, but that's all we can do right now.

              I'm happy right here, though.

Reading through this thread again, I find this a hilarious exchange.

stop worrying about the boards and bring back a chat, even if it's really ghetto one. the chat keeps people coming back. It's been 3 days since someone posted in "Ankap" when we had a working chat that was never the case

i can't remember exactly where but there was another discussion of reviving a chat room here.

i believe the answer again was we're waiting on Nimda.

wow. I and another member noticed when we type our replies on private message etc: darn!
the system deletes it or says something stupid and frustrating!
is there some timing in the system that disconnects the letter to not be able to send to the
other person after say a few seconds?
I hope this issue can be addressed and remedied. Or make the timing mechanism longer....
                      Oh well....
