  • Should HyeClub Forum have a Chat Room?

I could get some kind of a chatroom going. However, the problem is, the advantage of a forum is that it leaves a written communication that can be of use to other Armenians, who will search for related topics. While a chat room is a place where everything chatted about gets wasted and sometimes conversations can turn into fights and trolling becomes prevalent.

I think if you provided a chat it would be cool
I for one would like the chat back.

You, for one, never used the chat to chat with anyone.

I think the chat was more used for casual chit-chat than more serious discussion we'd want to preserve. Although it wasn't too common, I think there were probably some times when things got discussed there that would have been nice to post on the forum, but I think there were also a lot of times thread/post ideas came from discussions in the chatroom too. I think there are pros and cons to the chat, but personally, I feel that the pros outweighed the cons.

Right! Because the chat converts all the rest into one word chat, too. Therefore the chat cons don't respond; the majority ...

I think they were in the chat so overall they spent more time on the forum. There may be a difference in post count, but what kind of posts? Keep & Kill or what did you eat? sort of garbage? I wouldn't even count those.

... or is the forum format more optimal?

Convincing point. I much prefer we prioritise written communication that can be used by other Armenians than to see the forum potentially cannibalised by the chat. Now that I think of it, forum posts seemed to be down during the height in popularity of the chat. While maybe 75% of the chat's contents were casual talk, there were long and heated debates on many topics that could have served better as posts on the forum. I'm voting against.

What happened to the chatroom? Was it removed or something?
