Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Bros, been closely following the debate between Lernakan and KarotheGreat in the other thread that the new Karo the dictator closed to show us how much free speech he likes according to his signature.

But really. Wow! Really impressed by Lernakans maturity and Vahrams patriotism. but the democract turned dictator Karo reminds me of many Haysatantsis I run into in USA all the time.

Trust me guys, every single one of these "Armenia needs western values and economics" people come from Armenia's labor/lower class of society, you will find not find one intelektual or serious professional in them. They ran away from Armenias chaos in 1990s and they are living now on welfare in the USA and they pray to God for the USA everyday - Aper, Amerikan lava, Amerika siruna, Amerikan inch el ani jishta! Blahblahblah! Tsarits nor ichats mardiq en. And God forbid on of them gets a little education - wohooo they think they are geniuses LOL! Anyway bros, its all about personal character and family upbringing.

I remember Karos recent posts, he went from having Vardan Mamikonyan Avatar to having avatar of Ramkavar party. That's like having a sex change LOL! And looks like his understanding of America comes from movies and CNN.

biased mods usually signify the downfall of a forum. That's the worst thing for a forum.

Great job of showing your intellect and maturity by attacking someone based on their background and doing the biggest thing one can do to hurt the Armenian cause: by dividing us. There is one thing I have been wanting to ask a lot of the people on this forum who consider it a treason to question anything in Armenia: If you think everything is so well in Armenia, why don't you move their right now? Yeah that's right, because life is much better where you are. Yeah people there should be patient, calm, reasonable and love their country, AND LIVE IN CONDITIONS WHICH YOU DON'T LIVE IN. Am I right? If you are such a patriot, why don't you make the sacrifice now? Why don't you give up your comfortable life in imperialist zionist world destroying west and move to Armenia or even all mighty Russia. Why don't you stop waiting for an imaginary perfect future that will never come when Armenia is good enough to meet your standards before you move? Yeah visit once a year, have a Kotayk in front of the Opera, and go back to your lives, and consider yourself a true Armenian. Maybe what you don't hear about is what happens after you leave, when the sunshine turns into snow, when the money from tourism is gone, when in parts of the country the little business that exists shuts down six months a year cause of the cold, and people have to wonder how they have to pay for their kids education or their kids cloths.

And in case you never saw Armenia in the 90's, people didn't "run away from the chaos". Every time I would visit my Hayrenadarts relatives from Iran in the 90's I would see my relatives hungry, living on nothing, relatives having no way to feed their kids. So, don't make it seem like its people leaving Spain or Italy today cause things got a little rough. It was people having to leave because they couldn't watch their kids go hungry.

For what its worth, I think Karo has a very moderate voice, that is very much suited for a moderator. I think its just the fact that this forum has moved to far to the extreme on one side, that the moderate looks like the radical.
Its like how the moderate centerist/conservative democratic party is considered the socialist/commie left wing part in America.

So where have the moderators of this forum been biased?

There have been instances of this in the past. I don't want to start accusations and quarrels with the staff here, as I don't want to be banned.

Emmm ... by definition every time you edit or delete a post you show bias. Fortunately that bias is usually towards "sanity" but it is a bias
              this post = teh win.

The only time a post should be deleted is if it is a threatening message, clear harassment, very vulgar, spam, etc. Other than that, people should have the freedom to post what they want.

What about keeping the thread on topic? Why should Tigran the great be discussed in a thread about Armenian elections? (to give a clear example)

Threads/discussions always diverge. That's just the nature of human conversation. The best thing to do in order to avoid being labelled 'biased' is, if a thread is already for many posts way off-topic, and it seems won't come back on topic, you simply make a warning saying that continuing more of the off-topic posts will be deleted and you make a post related to the topic at hand to change the flow of conversation. You pose a question that pertains to the topic or something like that. If you are in a debate with someone in that stream of off-topic posts, than doing so, you will look biased.
