I use this arguement frequently in discussions. Turkish people are well aware of the fact that they are relative with all the nations lived and living in Anatolia. Nearly every family has brides or grooms of Kurdish, Caucasion, Arabic, etc. origin.
Sorry if I have digressed from the topic.

There is no dispute within the academic community that Turkic people share genetics with us. Otherwise, as stated, they would still look like their Mongolian ancestors. This is not an insult to Armenians. It just means that the "Turkish culture" is a psuedo-"ethnicity" comprised of the many Anatolian nations they invaded, raped and stole from. Turks are the bastard child of their Mongolian mother, and countless unknown Anatolian fathers (Greek, Armenian, Lebanese, Assyrian, Arab, Kurd, etc.). In other words, being a "Turk" is as legitimate and meaningful as being an "American".

The real question is how many Turks don't know, or flat out deny they are Mongols?
