Did this ever extend to or affect Armenia? And were Armenians already Christians by the 1600s?

I'm very bad with history but I thought the Armenians were Christians long before that.

    *edit*

When investigating the origin of church-state collaboration, most Westerners look back to Constantine and the 313 Edict of Milan, which made Christianity the favored religion in the Roman Empire. But Christianity likely achieved state-approved status even earlier in Armenia, where celebrations this year will commemorate 1,700 years of faith.

To my knowledge it was not affected, because it was outside of the sphere of the Catholic church well within the Ottoman Empire.

actually some Armenians living in Italy and states nearly got converted. thats why there are the western writings about armenians living in Cicilia. However inquisition never reached the armenian lands and stuff.

Armenia was the first nation to adopt Christianity as a state religion, in 301 AD. Long before the 1600s.

I guess what I'm saying is, if it was said that Armenians were practicing "witchcraft" would the vatican take notice and care or is it that far out of their jurisdiction?

The Armenians in Cilicia that became Catholics were not so because of the Inquisition but because of the first crusades launched in 1095 AD, when Armenians first made contact with the Christian powers of Europe.
