I had no clue there was an old and new. I love our anthem

Originally posted by CatWomanThat's a whole different topic, perhaps better suited for Armenian politics than history, cause as far as history goes, Javakhk was part of Armenia.
But to answer your question, definitely not. I don't think Armenia wants Javakhk back... At least not untill the Karabakh case is settled. I also think religion plays some roll in Armenia/Azerbaijan conflicts, or if not relgion, the race. They're Azeri muslim turks but Georgians are Christians. Ofcouse, this is only my opinion.

Particular tension begins with Georgia now. Will it result to something similar as with Azerbaijan because of Javakhk region in Georgia? In this case Armenia will sentence a death penalty for itself as Georgia is the only proper land access to the rest of the world.

I think "they" are actually working on using the music written by Khachaturyan but either using the same words from the 'new' anthem, (modifying here and there to accomodate to the music), or making new lyrics to go with it. I think it will probably be the first one.

Hey, I really am proud of Soviet Armenia. And As the Russians did, we can simply change the words around in the anthem and have our powerful anthem which symbolizes the better years we have had and the work for better years to come.

The only new Armenian Anthems I could find are all midi and crap quality. And to say the truth, it stinks. The old soviet anthem was strong, and bold. This one's so weak... Bah. What the hell!
