I never thought I say this but it seems like what we need is a Statesman like Ataturk.

I don't think leadership is the big issue today, Armenias problem stems from its geographic location and the interests of big nations regarding the area. The greatest leader in the world won't be able to do anything if his hands are tied.

I will bring just 2 facts.
Sevre treaty which brought to creation of Independent Armenia 1918 and which included Western Armenia as a part of it.
Kars treaty signed by Soviet Russia after invading and ocupying independent Armenia; THEY GIVE IT ALL AWAY. THEY GAVE AWAY KARS which was part of independent Armenian Republic. They gave Nakhichevan to azeris and bye- bye Sevre treaty and Western Armenia....

Are you proud of this? Do you really think USSR did anything for Armenia?

You have to be blind to think ussr did nothing for armenia, but then it is mukuch so we are talking to a blind man. Hmm lets see what did ussr do for armenia? established a standard of living armenia has yet to reach since the soviet collapse, provide security for 75 years, establish educational institutions, industries, social programs we will probably not see again in a long time (all of which ltp destroyed).It's ok mukuch i am sure you and your imaginery but powerfull army will soon get us our lands back and raise the standard of living for all armenians in no time, we don't need russia, just waive that flag and all will be good..

Mukuch lacks the capacity to think so don't make unrealistic demands of him. He can only see things in black and white, add some collor to his life and he will definetly freakout and think he was poisoned with lsd.

If you were part of a communist institution then you are evile, no matter that anyone who wanted to have a career back then had to join such institutions to advance...

Yes, the situation is very difficult for the best of leaders but it doesn’t change the fact that it is still badly needed.

A strong leadership who has its priorities straight, knows how to communicate, uses strategy, and knows how to play chess is what is needed………………instead of continuing to be a chess peace of the superpowers that can be sacrificed at their disposal.

@Mukuch: Look at Armenia today and you'll see what they have done, every city has been built by the USSR. Yerevan was built by them before the USSR Yerevan was a big Islamic village filled with starving people, refugees from Western-Armenia they took it and created the beautiful city you see today. Without USSR Turkey would have conquered all of Armenia and we would have nothing left, and our race would have been destroyed. What more do you want from them.

And almost every one was a member of the Communistic party, if you wanted a job you were a member. If you wanted a peaceful home and future you joined the party.

@EDDO we don't need a Attaturk I think we need a Chengis Khan to lead our people, a person who can win in every situation. And a person who doens't have pity with his enemies.

Can you say that these things are not being done?I have proof that this guy tried to do just those things like for example he tried to participate in nato but had to backout because his hands are tied(russia said you participate and no 500,000,000 for armenia), he tried to initiate dialogue with turckey(soccer matches). There is nothing anyone could have done differently in this and many other situations without putting the country at risk.The country has plenty of people who are great leaders, if it was not for kocharian and his friends taking the initiative and getting rid of levon we might not have a homeland today, that was great leadership, but in todays invironment against the big powers such leadership can be the wrong thing, just look at what happened to georgia, had shakasville succeeded and russia had not intervened then he would have been a great leader but we all know what happened. Playing smart and knowing when to act and when not to is the key, there may be a time for a leader to act in a bold new way but it has to be done at the right time.

Karothe, this mukuch guy has been attacking me and calling me all kinds of colorfull names so i only see it fit to respond in kind.Perhaps a moderators warning for mukuch is in order. As for ideas there are hardly any he has worth comenting on, just a slew of anti hayastantsi,russian,soviet.... rants with nothing comprehendable or worth anyones time to read.He also has some grandious perceptions of himself "you don't know who i am" "you dont know who your talking to" , as if he is god and i should fear his wreath(oo im so scared momy).well i got a good idea its a dim witted individual with absolutly no ideas and lots of hostility.I think this guy really pisses me off because in addition to being a idiot he is also reckless.I cant blame the moderator if he was to warn me to but i had to vent.

Everybody is a millionaire on the Internet and I don't like most of the anti-Hayastan an rhetorics I've been reading lately. But be the bigger men and let the reader decide who is right, there are alot of people reading this Forum and we need to stand above the insults and show our point in a good manner and respectful.
