  • Finally, Google Translate features Armenian

Now Google Translate is featuring Armenian! (though it is still in its ALPHA version, so you will find some very hilarious translations).

More information can be found on: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/...guages-on.html

Google's service, offered free of charge, instantly translates words, phrases, and web pages between English and over 100 other languages.

    Enjoy!

Re: Finally, Google Translate features Armenian

A paragraph lifted at random from a book in Armenian, ("At Ani" by Artashes Vruyr) scanned using Abbyy Finereader:

      Google translate:
February Revolution waves only after 16 days reached Kars, which was at the time of "Gurgen 'Association, a father, I had the theatrical work.
After the February Revolution "Gurgen 'Association ended its activities. Hovh. Abelian, Isaac Alikhanyan, Arshak Harutyunyan, zhasmen, Olga Film & Animation, Lizik Harutyunyan and others heoatsan Kars to their homes.
Several start-up actors remained in Kars e Aram Vruyri rezhisorutyamb leadership and began to give presentations, the group invited to a lack of filling Tbilisi actor actresses.

February revolution canal 16 day , then reached to my sewing where only , at that time commit ,Գուրգենե accompaniment , father Ա be run that troupe. Finished after a February revolution the ,Գուրգենե accompaniment his activity. Հովհ. On their homes , Abelyan Isahak , Alixanyan Arshak Harutyunyan Jasmen , Olga Գուլազյան , Լիզիկ Harutyunyan and ուրիշներ հեոացան Կարսից. With a few beginner actors stayed with Կարսում ե Aram Վրույրի leadership and with the producing began presentations with actresses giving, bunchs pouring up the gap an actor who Թիֆլիսից invited.

Google is the clear winner, but it is still barely understandable.

With some guesswork, what it could mean:
The waves of the February Revolution reached Kars only after 16 days. At that time my father had theatrical work at the "Gurgen Association". (Or "At that time my father ran the theatrical troupe called "Gurgen"?) After the February Revolution the "Gurgen Association" ceased its activities. Hovh. Abelian, Isaac Alikhanyan, Arshak Harutyunyan, zhasmen, Olga Film & Animation, Lizik Harutyunyan and others decided to leave Kars for their homes. Several junior actors remained in Kars under Aram Vruyr’s directoral leadership and began to give presentations. The group invited Tbilisi actors and actresses to fill the gaps.

      How correct am I?
